referred to “a colossal triple bill”, and i think last night went some way to proving that right. Massive thanks to The Fargo Railroad Co., The Sea Whores, MG Boulter and everybody who helped fill The Greystones. A great night i hope you’d agree.

WagonWheel Presents… is back in action on Wednesday September 27th when we return to the same venue for the Sheffield debut of Chris Pureka. Completing the line up for what promises to be another special night will be Stoney. Full details are here, hope you can join us then.

as once sang one of the great bands in the sky. It’s been long enough for 272 WagonWheel Presents… shows, the most recent of which was a fine evening in the company of Paul Littlewood, E.R. Thorpe, Anytown and Rory Cannon at Shakespeares last night. Thanks to them and all who joined us.

Year eleven begins coincidentally enough on Friday November 11th when we’re joined in the Bard’s Bar by Roaming Son, The Sea Whores and Tom Baxendale. Full details for this show can be found here. We hope to see you there too.

a bad way to spend a Sunday, was it? Thanks to everybody that came out to our Tramlines show at Shakespeares yesterday. Was nice to see lots of faces around for most (and some for all) of the day. We’re pretty sure you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Big thanks of course as well to The Fargo Railroad Co., Stoney, The Payroll Union, Paul McClure, Walton Hesse, Tom Baxendale, Coma Girls, Boss Caine, The Ragged Edge, David Venn, The Clench, Bob Collum, The Sea Whores and Roaming Son for the fine entertainment. 2017 would have a lot to follow…

WagonWheel Presents… regular shows are here all year round though and we return to The Greystones on Wednesday August 3rd in the company of Curtis Eller’s American Circus. Those lovely Silver Darlings will be along to open the show too. You can find full details here. Maybe we’ll see you then too?

On Saturday September 9th, WagonWheel Presents… brings a colossal triple bill to The Greystones. We’ll be joined for the evening by local heroes The Fargo Railroad Co., fresh from a summer of festival appearances across the UK. From Leeds there’s the bawdy ballads and junkyard skiffle of The Sea Whores and a welcome return for the mutli-talented M.G. Boulter. Advance tickets priced at £6 are available from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/397578 and the venue (12-6pm) or entry on the night will be £8. Doors open 7.45pm.

***THE FARGO RAILROAD CO.***

The Fargo Railroad Co. are a southern rock / Americana inspired 4 piece band from Sheffield, UK. Established in 2013 they have already gathered a loyal fan base and continue to add to their numbers playing shows throughout the UK. What is clear is that these boys enjoy being on stage and love playing the music they are producing.

They share a distinct and united love of music with a breadth of appreciation that is truly eclectic – all of this has come together to form their current sound, which has settled in the broad and deep ocean of Southern Rock. Looking at the mighty works of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band, ’38 Special etc, doffing a cap to the sweet 70’s sound of Cash, Young, Dylan whilst bringing in more contemporary vibes of Blackberry Smoke and Jason Isbell.

They released their debut album, live recording Sharing The Load, in early 2015 and had a busy summer of festival appearances. They rounded off 2015 with a sold out second birthday show and a live acoustic EP, before the end of 2016 saw them release their first full length studio album This One’s For You in front of another sell out crowd. 2017 sees them play both Maverick and SummerTyne festivals as well as a host of other dates around the country.

***THE SEA WHORES***

All the way from some mysterious corner of Yorkshire…. The Sea Whores build a cinematic musical landscape of old world folk songs lost at sea and modern mysteries of doomed love, lust and obsession.

Mayhem, murder, madness and a rare cock-eyed view of bawdy ballads, all accompanied by steel guitar, banjo and fiddle creates a brand of lo-fi junkyard skiffle that makes their musical details reassuringly the same, yet completely different to all others, with brooding atmosphere, dark humour and kinetic energy flowing through this rusty old time fairground ride of a band. Holy, dark and Royal; hold onto your hats!

***M.G. BOULTER***

M G Boulter is a songwriter and musician who currently lives on the Thames coast in England. He has released a number of records including his latest With Wolves the Lamb will Lie in 2016. He has also worked alongside many other artists and has been involved in The Simone Felice Group, Emily Portman’s Coracle Band, The Duke and the King and Blue Rose Code, as well as his long time partners, The Lucky Strikes.

***ROAMING SON***

roaming-son-new

Roaming Son are a four piece band from Sheffield. They draw influences from the sounds of the earliest raucous rock ‘n’ roll bands of the 50’s, but adding a distinct sound that is refreshingly modern. They have honed their live show supporting bands such as Kat Men, Big Boy Bloater, Dan Baird & Homemade Sin, Warner E. Hodges, Jason & The Scorchers to name a few. Expect jungle drums, dirty twangy slapback guitars, greasy bass and vocals that range from heartfelt to lowdown and earthy.

In 2013 the band released debut EP ‘History Of Violence’ and were named ‘Best Live Act’ at the Sheffield Scenester awards. In 2015 they released their latest EP ‘Blood On My Hands’.
