a bad way to spend a Sunday, was it? Thanks to everybody that came out to our Tramlines show at Shakespeares yesterday. Was nice to see lots of faces around for most (and some for all) of the day. We’re pretty sure you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Big thanks of course as well to The Fargo Railroad Co., Stoney, The Payroll Union, Paul McClure, Walton Hesse, Tom Baxendale, Coma Girls, Boss Caine, The Ragged Edge, David Venn, The Clench, Bob Collum, The Sea Whores and Roaming Son for the fine entertainment. 2017 would have a lot to follow…

WagonWheel Presents… regular shows are here all year round though and we return to The Greystones on Wednesday August 3rd in the company of Curtis Eller’s American Circus. Those lovely Silver Darlings will be along to open the show too. You can find full details here. Maybe we’ll see you then too?

one weekend of great music. That’s what we had over the last couple of days at Shakespeares. It began in fine style on Saturday night in the Bard’s Bar with King Quentin, The Sea Whores and The Ragged Edge, followed by a delightful afternoon in the beer garden yesterday with M&J Blues, Steve Chapman Smith, Big Convoy, Luke Whittemore and Andy P. Davison. Thanks to all involved and all who joined us to listen.

The next WagonWheel Presents… show is on Tuesday September 8th when we welcome The Rosellys and Mat Wale & Friends to The Greystones. You can read a full preview for the show here. Maybe you’ll join us too?

Jo sings and plays guitar while Harry plays the drums or the occasional home made cajon. Two full length albums have been recorded. King Quentin exist to remind people what music is all about: emotion and memory making. There are no delusions of grandeur, just authentic and honest lyrics and good music.Once described by Sheffield’s then premier music magazine, Sandman, as “a slice of raw magic”. King Quentin have been described as having a Country and Americana sound with bluegrass influences.

***THE SEA WHORES***

The Sea Whores

All the way from some mysterious corner of Yorkshire…. The Sea Whores build a cinematic musical landscape of old world folk songs lost at sea and modern mysteries of doomed love, lust and obsession.

Mayhem, murder, madness and a rare cock-eyed view of bawdy ballads, all accompanied by steel guitar, banjo and fiddle creates a brand of lo-fi junkyard skiffle that makes their musical details reassuringly the same, yet completely different to all others, with brooding atmosphere, dark humour and kinetic energy flowing through this rusty old time fairground ride of a band. Holy, dark and Royal; hold onto your hats!

***THE RAGGED EDGE***

Tim Fletcher

The Ragged Edge are a new band based around the music of singer/songwriter Tim Fletcher. Tim played a couple of our early shows back in 2006/2007 and returns with his new country/folk ensemble, adding lead guitar, cello and fiddle in to the mix.
