but be under no illusion about how good the three bands were that joined us at Shakespeares last night. The first time in over 200 shows we’ve had an amp blow up on stage (i think?), and a first gig for KC Video who set the ball rolling for Chris Murphy & Boxer Genius and Stiv Cantarelli & The Silent Strangers. Big thanks to them and those few who came out to support quality live music.

The next WagonWheel Presents… show is on Saturday May 30th when we welcome back Roger Davies who headlined our very first night back in 2006. Joining him at Shakespeares will be Yellowcake and Mat Wale. A full preview for this show can be found here.

See you then maybe?

about Cale Tyson is true. If you’ve heard nothing yet, make sure you put that right soon. Anybody that missed out last night, you’ve really no idea how much you missed out. Big thanks to Cale and sideman Pete Lindberg, Rob from Canyon Family and Luke Whittemore for a great night of live music at Shakespeares. Thanks to those of you who were there to enjoy it with us.

WagonWheel Presents… returns to the Bard’s Bar of Friday May 22nd and it promises to be something special again. We welcomes back the bluesy rock ‘n’ rollers from Italy, Stiv Cantarelli & The Silent Strangers. Support comes from Chris Murphy & Boxer Genius and KC Video. You can find a full preview here.

Maybe we’ll see you there?

billed as England v Italy, but once again the only winner at Shakespeares last night was music. Big, big thanks to three magnificent bands and those of you who were there to enjoy Roaming Son, Stiv Cantarelli & The Silent Strangers and Tsar Nicholas III & The Exiles with us. We can only hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

A is for… well let’s not get into that, except to say thanks to the amazing Matt Andersen for yet another fantastic show. Thanks of course also go to M&J Blues for a fine opening set and you if you were one of the many people that filled the Bard’s Bar at Shakespeares last night. We certainly had a great time.

We’re back at Shakespeares twice next month. Firstly on October 14th we have a triple bill of Roaming Son, Stiv Cantarelli & The Silent Strangers and Tsar Nicholas III & The Exiles before October 21st sees the return of Otis Gibbs.

Meanwhile on October 16th we’re back at The Greystones when we’re joined by Rod Picott. You can find previews for all of next month’s shows by clicking here.

Well it already feels like an age since our Tramlines show at the end of last month. The good news is we’ve lots to look forward to for the rest of 2014 including some cracking new shows. Recent additions include Otis Gibbs at Shakespeares on October 21st following on from a mighty triple bill of Roaming Son, Stiv Cantarelli & The Silent Strangers and Tsar Nicholas III & The Exiles at the same venue on the 14th of the same month.

It’s a while still until WagonWheel Presents… returns to The Greystones, but when we do it will be more than worth the wait as we’ll be in the company of Rod Picott on October 16th. And after opening for and backing Rod on his last UK tour, Wild Ponies join us for their own headline show in The Backroom on November 20th.

November will also see dates at Shakespeares for Canyon Family and The Fargo Railroad Co, before the 29th of that month when we look to recreate what proved to be a very special night last year with Boss Caine, Dave Woodcock, Joe Solo and Richard Kitson.

There’s a duo of shows to come in September in the Bard’s Bar. Saturday 27th sees the eagerly awaited return of Matt Andersen with support from M&J Blues. Preceding that on Saturday 6th there’s a WagonWheel debut for Anytown, who count members of Dead Like Harry among their number. Alongside them will be The Listeners, Mat Wale and Huw Costin.

Before all those though, we have a night of three fine local acts at Shakespeares on Thursday August 28th in the shape of Dave Woodcock & The Dead Comedians, Chris Murphy & Boxer Genius and J. Tilley of Grassoline playing a solo set. A full preview for this show can be found by clicking here. A full list of confirmed gigs can be found by clicking here.

Advance tickets for all confirmed shows are available from: http://www.wegottickets.com/wagonwheelpresents Prices will always be more on the door.

That won’t be all for this year, and there are shows in the works for 2015 too. Keep an eye on the Gigs page for details.
